Education
I have my B.S. in Environmental Engineering from Oregon State University and my M.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Portland State University. My M.S. program focused on ecohydrology and computing methods. My thesis was titled Insights in Forest Transpiration Using Machine Learning Methods and is available to the public at https://pdxscholar.library.pdx.edu/open_access_etds/6199/.
Experience
I founded Thornwell Labs in July 2024. Before founding Thornwell Labs, I spent six years as a consulting water resources engineer. I've done hydrologic and hydraulic modeling throughout my career. I have extensive experience in design of stormwater systems (collection, conveyance, and treatment) and stream restoration / fish passage design. I'm experienced in CAD (Microstation and Civil 3D), an expert GIS user, proficient in Python, and am knowledgeable in modeling software including HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS. SRH-2D, VELMA, HydroCAD, InfoSWMM, and CE-QUAL-W2. Since founding Thornwell Labs, my focus has been scientific research in ecohydrological modeling. Extra About Me
I grew up in the Oregon countryside and now live in Portland with my husband and our two dogs. I'm a serial hobby collector. I spend my time on live music, reading, piano, arts and crafts, training jiu jitsu, cooking, yoga, running, gaming, hiking, camping, dancing, and pondering life's mysteries. I like to make friends and learn new perspectives.
